Job Description
As a Distribution Center Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the maintenance and modifications of the Warehouse Management System and will act as the local liaison between the Mainframe, Mid-Range, and Application Development departments. You will work closely with the Network/Telecom departments and the Technology Office to coordinate, troubleshoot, and install physical infrastructure that supports the distribution center and RBO where applicable and oversee and approve the entry of all Peregrine moves, add, and change requests.
Additional Responsibilities of the Distribution Center Systems Administrator include:
- Liaison to MHE vendors as it relates to data handling
- Work with all intelligent devices including A-frame, Vertical Shuttles, and Sortation Control Systems
- Coordinate all data backups and data recovery procedures
- Liaison between warehouse facility, WMS vendor, and MIS Department for problem resolution
- Support all data processing hardware including printers and terminals
- Total support of Local Area Network configuration
- Implementation of all future releases of software
- Coordinate inventory tracking of in-stock supplies including forms, ribbons, etc. and report usage to MIS
- Supervise 3-10 non-exempt staff
- Maintenance of all control tables within the WMS including access security
- Monitor the performance of the system application to ensure it is ready and available to all end-users
- Manage the peripheral interfaces with the WMS such as Neoware Terminals, RF Devices, and Printers
- Manage and monitor end-user access and rights and report to the SOX Compliance Department on a quarterly basis
- Develop reporting tools for users to have better visibility into the WMS and Operating Metrics, whether via Crystal Reports or COGNOS Report Studio
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of technical and analytical experience within a distribution center or logistics-related industry
- Experience using all MS Operating Systems and MS Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Six Sigma/continuous improvement production techniques
- Experience using Tableau
- Experience with Unix AIX and Unix SCO
- Experience writing SQL statements in Oracle
Education
Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
