Job Description
Position Summary:
Analyze user needs and provide effective operating structure for IT projects through sound IT analysis, Aetna Information System’s (AIS) project management methodology, AIS project resource allocation, and consolidated AIS project performance reporting. Gather and translate business and functional requirements into technical requirements to deliver precise specifications for functional hierarchy, workflow, business rules, definitions, outstanding issues, data profiling, data analysis, and data mapping while considering all impacted components from an end-to-end perspective. Work with Business Partners to elicit comprehensive functional requirements, recommend solutions to Architecture and Development, and work on developing training materials. Collaborate with Architects and System Developers to define overall functional application architecture on Hadoop, MarkLogic and SQL frameworks. Collect, analyze and track data trends on MarkLogic, Hadoop frameworks using Hue, XML schemas and X-Query to facilitate and recommend actions to improve existing processes. Conduct interviews and research to design creative, progressive IT application solutions for business problems and adhere to APLC (Aetna Project Life Cycle) or AGILE project management methodology by utilizing internal procedures and tools to identify areas for methodology improvement. Run SQL queries on HR Data Warehouse and DataMart to provide timely and quality solutions to assigned business and technical problems, and review deliverables/artifacts with project stakeholders through all the cycles of Software Development Life Cycle. Document detailed technical specifications, program functions and use cases needed to build and enhance the applications as part of technical design.
Background Experience
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering related field.
Minimum 5 years of Business Analyst experience. Must have experience with the following: Data Integration, Data Analytics, MarkLogic X-Query and/or XML Schema/JSON; HR systems – Peoplesoft, UltiPro, Healthcare, Structured IT application development; Lifecycles and methodologies including AGILE, Waterfall inclusive of Use Case tools, JIRA, Rational Team Concert, Rational Requirements Composer, HP Quality Center, Sharepoint; SQL Server, DB2, DataWarehouse, Datamarts, Predictive Modelling, Data Modelling, Data Measures; Application Program Interface (API’s), Mainframe systems including JCL, COBOL, VSAM, SAS; and gathering Requirements, documenting detailed technical specifications, data transformation, data migration rules, data mapping, program functions and Requirement Traceability Matrix
