Senior Accountant

Job Description
Fortune 5 CVS Health has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join its Aetna Medicaid Finance Team.  The ideal candidate will be performing month end close processes, reconciliations as well as performing complex assignments requiring advanced analytical and technical skills. May serve as Subject Matter Expert for specific processes and leading special projects and ad hoc requests as needed.

Fundamental Components

• Perform month-end and quarter-end accounting close process including but not limited to:
  • Preparation of journal entries (accruals, prepaid and expense transfers), account reconciliations and verifying accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Variance analysis for Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review of journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by others.
  • Completion of accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.
• Provide information and assistance to support various audits
• Complete special projects as assigned across functional areas within the Finance group.
• Assist areas of responsibility for annual budget and quarterly revisions.
• Identify and interpret new reporting and disclosure requirements.
• Liaison between Corporate and Local Market Finance teams.

Background Experience

Required qualifications:

- 3 or more years of accounting and/or finance experience
- Bachelors degree required; Preferably in accounting or finance. CPA preferred.

Preferred qualifications:

- Oracle, Essbase, Advanced Excel skills are a plus.
- Healthcare and/or Medicaid experience
