Job Description
This role can be at any Aetna hub location or be a full-time WAH opportunity

This position is responsible for pricing and understanding filing requirements for Aetna’s Affordable Care Act (ACA) business. Conduct analysis and create assumptions for pricing and risk assessment to estimate financial outcomes and benchmark to competitors.  Anticipate and recognize matters that materially affect financial results and make sound, unbiased recommendations on these matters.

Fundamental Components

  • Exhibit innovative use of resources to determine efficient development of pricing guidance
  • Demonstrate understanding of existing data sources and translate into appropriate assumptions and functional business information
  • Apply actuarial principles in compliance with regulations
  • Analyze market rate levels, and compare and contrast to internal modeling
  • Responsibility for maintaining and updating filing requirements, and understanding regulatory compliance issues
  • Collaborate with Product in the evaluation of new portfolios, including analysis on competitive dynamics
  • Recommend, implement, and oversee maintenance development of enhancements to processes and tools
  • Able to successfully work in a matrixed environment across multiple market and actuarial stakeholders

Background Experience
Bachelor's degree along with 5+ years related experience
Must be an ASA or FSA and is typically a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (or other accredited actuarial organization) able to sign state rate filings and other required actuarial certifications.
Previous pricing experience and excellent communication skills required
